In the year of our Lord, May 16, 1999 the first formal service was held in the St Martin/Cedar Grove Community Center with 12 people in attendance. The pastor’s message of encouragement and instruction was rendered from Genesis 26:20-22 and Proverbs 23:1-3, “Dig Three Wells:
First Well: E-SEK is to strive
Second Well: SIT-NAH means enmity
Third Well: REHOBOTH means more than enough
Pastor proclaimed that there’s more than enough and plenty of room for kingdom builders to dig, dig and dig.
We held bible study at Faith Obedience Baptist Church, Number 6 Comfort Place in Biloxi during the time at St Martin/Cedar Grove Community Center. We continued to dig and moved to the Holiday Inn on Highway 90 in August 1999. Pastor Johnson and his wife, Carolyn (CJ), received a prophecy at a weekend retreat on Saturday that they would receive a blessing from an elderly white man. On the following Tuesday, the prophecy was fulfilled and manifested. We were given a one-year lease at Seashore Methodist complex the Casey Center for Sunday Services which also included the main church facility for special services, bible study and special events. We were welcomed by the Methodist Church Pastor, Chairman of the Board and Parishioners.
Pastor Johnson’s official installation service was held January 18, 2000 by Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer, Faithful Central Bible Church, Los Angeles, California officiating.
January 7, 2001 we had to dig again and it was back to the Holiday Inn for Sunday Services and the Methodist Church for bible study. We did not stop digging. We were directed to dig at a building at 184 Main Street during this timeframe. Procedures were started through the Biloxi Planning Commission to occupy this building. Final approval for 184 Main Street was received in April 2001. The first service was held April 8, 2001 at 184 Main Street which was Palm Sunday.
We were directed to dig again with the Cloud Moving from 184 Main Street in April 2005 back to the Holiday Inn in preparation to occupy a building on the corner to Nixon and Division Street in Biloxi. Due to several construction delays the building was not occupied and Hurricane Katrina hit the Mississippi Gulf Coast on August 29, 2005. With severe damages and destruction to the Gulf Coast we had to dig again.
In September 2005 we held services in the park on Popps Ferry Road and from there to hold church services in the Pastor’s home, 3505 South River Ridge Drive in D’Iberville, Mississippi. Bible studies and choir rehearsals were held at other locations and parishioners homes.
In March 2006, we had to dig again and the cloud moved. We were invited to have church services at Coalville United Methodist Church in the Woolmarket area.
Ground breaking service was held in September 2007 on this location for our new Tabernacle in the Woolmarket community. The “TABERNACLE” is built, our first service was held on Sunday, March 4, 2012.
Our Church’s First Year Dedication Service in our new Sanctuary was held on Wednesday, June 19, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. and climaxed Sunday, June 23, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. The theme was: “FORWARD MARCH”, Joshua 1:9.
Our Lord is continually looking over His flock and we’re growing in numbers and in the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as we continue to dig.
